Although the images of the invasion of the Capitol shocked the whole planet, it seems that a fairly large percentage of Americans did not take a dim view of what happened on USA.
Poll conducted by the Institute for Public Opinion Research YouGov (in a sample of 1,397 people), reveals that 20% of American citizens are in favour of invading the Capitol and a percentage 42% with 50% opposes the removal of Donald Trump from office. The 62% of voters accept that the attack constitutes a threat to the constitution and the 71% oppose the move (Republican supporters, however, appear divided).
In particular, according to the results of the poll, one in five voters favors invading the Capitol. In this rate, the 45% belong to Republican supporters. As for the man responsible for what unfolded Wednesday afternoon in Washington, D.C., where the 55% of respondents believe that the responsibility lies with outgoing President Trump.
