The mayor of Kythera made statements on the sidelines of the workshop for the new NSRF, «Human Resources & Social Cohesion 2021-2027», Eustratios Charhalakis.
Mr. Harhalakis, speaking about the progress of the implementation of the projects in Regional Unit of Islands, said that the projects «are many», however there is a «problem with regard to the licensing procedures», an issue that concerns «state responsibilities», as he stressed.
«The anxiety of the mayors and the Regional Governor is government agencies to move more quickly in maturing and permitting projects», noted Mr. Harhalakis. In what has to do with the new NSRF, the mayor of Kythera praised the negotiating skills of the Attica Region, George Patouli, both with the government and with the European Commission, thanks to which «the resources for the new programming period will be greatly increased for the whole of Attica», exceeding 1 billion, six hundred million euros.
Finally, regarding the islands, Mr.Harchalakis said that the 8 mayors have defined the objectives, through significant preparatory work and development study, expressing confidence that these objectives, in cooperation with the Region, «will become reality».
