Without masks and diagnostic tests, students returned to classrooms, but the new health protocol provides for exceptions for teachers who have not been vaccinated and have not contracted coronavirus - What the professor of pulmonology said about teachers who have not been vaccinated and their obligation to perform one rapid or PCR test per week.
Theodoros Vassilakopoulos, a professor of pulmonology, explained on SKAI television and the show «Today», that the reason why schools are operating without measures is that we are in the sixth week of decalcification of the coronavirus indicators.
«Today, when the new data will be announced by the EODY, I bet with a very high probability to win that it will be the 7th week of decalcification, so we go to school like the whole civilized world, without special measures».
Mr. Vassilakopoulos noted, however, that the protocol should provide for a negative coronavirus test for teachers returning to classrooms after an illness as the mask alone is not enough.
Unvaccinated teachers - «Not a particularly intelligent choice», says pulmonology professor
For unvaccinated teachers, who are required to do one rapid test or PCR test per week, the professor stressed that the number of those who have not been vaccinated or are not sick is small.
However, he described it as not a particularly intelligent choice not to be vaccinated. «I am concerned that a teacher who has not been vaccinated will teach my child a lesson, what kind of letters will he teach him?», he commented.
«Doing a rapid test to protect the rest of the environment minimally is the minimum cost of maintaining its stubbornness,» Vassilakopoulos said, adding. «There is not a single good reason for an intelligent person not to be vaccinated.».
