In a statement during a joint press conference with the «pseudo-foreign minister» of the occupied territories, the Cavusoglu stated that the international actor is putting pressure on Greece, so that our country can sit down at the negotiating table without delay.
«During this period, other countries, the countries that learned our attitude on this issue, the USA and the Germany, warned Greece to start exploratory talks as soon as possible,» the Turkish diplomatic chief said, in an apparent attempt to shift the pressure on the Athens.
In fact, Cavusoglu made sure to involve in the whole issue and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, confirming the fears that had emerged after the latter's combined visits to Ankara and Athens.
«During this period,» the Turkish Foreign Minister said, «an attempt was made by Albania's Foreign Minister Edi Rama to meet with me and the Nikos Dendias in Tirana. Again, for the same reasons, Dendias said he could not attend the meeting.».
It is obvious that - absence of a stable Greek foreign policy and a strong domestic front -, the Turks have brought the situation into line and are now the ones who are steering the course of developments where they were aiming from the very beginning.
