The army «is currently carrying out simultaneous strikes in Tehran and Beirut. The Israeli Air Force launched targeted strikes against military targets of the Iranian terrorist regime and the Hezbollah terrorist organization,» according to a statement by the Israeli armed forces on Telegram.
According to images broadcast by Agence France-Presse television (AFPTV), a large cloud of smoke is rising over the Lebanese capital.
Meanwhile, the US State Department announced today that it has ordered the departure of non-emergency US government personnel and their family members from Bahrain, Iraq and Jordan.
The order was issued as the US considers security risks associated with its attack on Iran.
A short while ago, the US embassy in Kuwait announced via X that it will remain closed until further notice.
