The armed forces of Russia have taken over the nuclear power plant Zaporizhzhya in the southeastern part of the Ukraine, the local authorities announced today.
«Operational staff are monitoring the condition of the reactors,» they said on social media, adding that efforts to ensure operation are following safety rules.
Ukraine said that Russian forces bombed the nuclear power plant in the early hours of Friday morning, causing a fire in its building. The fire was extinguished earlier this morning.
