For next week the payment of the 534 euros to those who employees are in parole. This is the money of the special purpose compensation to be paid for the month of April. As regards the month of May, from tomorrow, Thursday 6 May at 12:00, the ERGANI so that the paroles can be submitted. However, the turnover criterion will not apply to the catering and retail sectors and to those businesses that remain closed.
More specifically, for the period 6-12 May 2021, declarations of suspension of employment contracts will be submitted. Employers have the option of declaring a suspension for the whole of May or for some of that period.
Criteria change
Given the reopening of the catering and from 15 May of Tourism, it is reasonable that the criteria for eligibility for parole are also changed. The turnover criterion that was set as a filter for suspensions in March and April will not apply in May for restaurants, retail (click away) and closed businesses. However, for the month of May, businesses that operate and/or have permitted activities can only suspend employment contracts of their employees whose working hours per week are at least 16 hours.
Statements of suspension in two phases
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Labour, for the period 6-12 May 2021, declarations of suspension of employment contracts will be submitted, which can relate to either the whole of May or part of it. However, suspensions for the period from 1 to 12 May 2021 will have to be declared.
After 13 May 2021, employers have the possibility to announce suspensions of employees' employment contracts until the end of the month. However, there is no possibility to change the declarations for the period 1-12 May.
