Η Attica Region, the Regional Unit of Islands, seeking to institutionalise sporting events and the creation of a sporting tradition on its islands, co-organised and implemented for 2021 the following sporting events:

- PoroSea 2021 (Poros)
- 3rdTrimoreSwimRun Hydra 2021 (Hydra)
- 10th Road Race “Ioannis Kapodistrias” (Aegina)
- Championship LaserRDL AMen's 2021 (Salamina)
The program was completed with the 3rd Trimore Swim Run Hydra 2021, which took place on 21/11/2021 in Hydra, where the Vice-Regional Governor of the Islands, Vasiliki Theodorakopoulou-Bogri. The games were addressed both to the general public and to international champions, whose presence turned the attention of the international news to the islands of Attica. .
The Vice-Regional Governor of the Islands, referring to the overall programme of sports events 2021, said: «The Region of Attica and the Regional Governor, Mr. G. Patoulis, will continue to stand by sports events that promote sporting ideals and offer creative outlets to local communities. Sports tourism as a pole of attraction for athletes will help our islands substantially. The Regional Unit of the Islands aims to transform the islands into cultural cradles by promoting, among other things, sporting activity. Through the systematic organization of such actions, the citizen comes in contact with sport and healthy lifestyle, but also with the natural wealth of our islands. Sport promotes the physical and mental health of people. It is at the forefront of the planning of the Region we envision. We will continue to consistently and in an organized manner support events that are designed to promote fair play and stimulate the local economy. We are committed to supporting the world of sport.
