Addressing the gathered faithful in St. Peter's Square, the Pope referred also today to the tragic developments in the Middle East.
«In the name of the Lord, please stop. Cease fire!» said the pontiff. At the same time, he hoped «that every avenue may be pursued that can allow the conflict to avoid widening, that help may be provided to the wounded and that aid may reach the people of Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is grave.».
Francis again appealed for the release of the hostages, recalling that «among them there are many children» who «must return to their families». The Argentine Pope finally underlined:
«We have to think about the children, all the children of this war, but also of Ukraine and other regions. In this way, their future is being murdered. Let us pray for the strength to be found, so that they all say, ”enough”.».
