Early November, in the middle of a pandemic. So that we can gather ourselves slowly. This is supported - apart from covid-19”s "Damoclean Sword" - by the weather, which is gradually cooling down.
And yes! Even within the four walls, there are activities to avoid boredom, to exercise body, soul and spirit and to stay fit and fit.
Either alone or with a select (and well-measured) company, we can broaden horizons and break the bonds of boredom.
Are we ready?;
Ready... set... go!
Table magic

Ah! The board games. How many fond memories they carry. From the sweet utopia of Monopoly (we all have a wannabe Croesus in us), to the games of knowledge and strategy. Paper exercises, team meetings, exclamations, jokes, adrenaline. Of everything there's a menu, usually interspersed with a loving carp to the losers. Fear not, only love.
Netflix and dry bread

From Francis Ford Coppola to Rainer Werner Fassbinder and from Stranger Things to Casa de Papel. Movie eater nights vs serial eater nights. Non-stop marathons, red cheek, puffy eye, well-coiffed popcorn. The dark room within and the timeless gems of the moving image on our plate. “The Desire Bus” takes off and moves for the home of “ET”. Yes, we want magic. And we want it now!
Cooking competitions

Come on, let's face it. We all have a Jamie Oliver in us. Or a Vepa. Okay, fine, not all of us. Many like the process of consumption. But between you and me, the best seasoning for a meal is to idealize it in your own eyes. So fire up your imagination and gorge not on Paris but on Petralona. Or even Salona. Get celemedes, use your imagination and win the gold medal of gastronomy at the end of the day. But beware! If you confuse salt with ammonia, the dish of the day will foam. And it won't be from the bad stuff.
Gaming

It is mainly indicated for androparesis. And for exorcism of repressions. What if you're in your second decade and the venerable beer belly is your trademark? You're still galloping like a deer in the pro arenas, pulling off precision stints and finishing the job with reverse patent scissors. No, we're not playing! And we play and we clean up the laundry. Whether as a sniper, a zombie exterminator or a first-rate carateka. What a Karate Kid now! You came out of mom's belly with a black belt and an instant side kick to the doctor. You are not to be trifled with. He's a loser by hand. Or more accurately, a console.
All this and much more can be our companions in the difficult times of the pandemic. Not as a consolation, but as a legacy of an indomitable spirit and a spirit of companionship that can accompany us forever, with that primordial essence we had when we first discovered the world. For the world is a daily challenge/invite, to which we are called upon every time and under any circumstances to leave our own imprint. Behind a mask that will always smile.
