The House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the defense spending bill, amounting to 740 billion dollars and opens the road to enforcement sanctions on Turkey for the purchase of missile systems S-400 from Russia.
The defence bill passed with 335 votes for and 78 against and now has to get approval by the Senate to enter into force.
The President of the United States Donald Trump has warned that it will bring veto in the bill, if it is eventually passed by the Senate, because it contains certain provisions to which he has expressed his opposition and some things he has requested are missing.
The bill calls for sanctions to be imposed within 30 days of the legislation's passage and calls for sanctions to be imposed on «any person knowingly involved in Turkey's acquisition of the S-400»
The Senate is expected to vote on the bill by the end of the week.
