«With his interview in Kathimerini on Sunday, Samaras reveals that Mitsotakis is a prime minister under guardianship», SYRIZA comments.
In particular, in a statement under the title «the Prime Minister is held hostage by Mr Samaras», the opposition says that «on the one hand, Mr Samaras is forcing him to stonewall on the ratification of the memoranda with North Macedonia, exposing the country, while on the other hand he is pulling his ear because he is starting exploratory talks with Turkey».
SYRIZA notes that «this peculiar hostage-taking of the Prime Minister by Samaras and his team would be simply sad if it did not concern the country's foreign policy, the dialogue with Turkey and Greek-Turkish relations at their most difficult moment». He stressed that «the country's strategy in relation to Turkey is not a matter that concerns the internal party politics of New Democracy, but our national interests», to underline, finally, that «the regressions, the strategic gap and the constant government cacophony are seriously damaging the country's foreign policy».
