The rate of coronavirus cases in our country remains high and the new increase in the number of cases is a cause for concern.
According to the announcement of the National Public Health Organization on Thursday, July 8, 2,107 new cases were found. There are also 153 intubated patients in intensive care units and 10 new deaths.

The National Public Health Organization (NPHO) announced on Thursday afternoon that the laboratory-confirmed new cases of coronavirus are 2,107, of which 5 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates.
The total number of cases is 433,021 (daily change +0.5%), of which 51.2% are males. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 146 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,769 are associated with an already known case.
The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 153 (68.0% men). Their median age is 66 years. 88.2% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,720 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
New Covid-19 patient admissions to hospitals in the territory are 68 (daily change +15.25%). The seven-day average admission rate is 49 patients.
There are 10 new deaths of COVID-19 patients, with a total of 12,773 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.2% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
In the last 24 hours 13,433 molecular tests and 51,578 rapid tests were performed. In total 65,011 positivity is estimated at 3,24%.
