Strike action and work stoppages in the private and public sector have been declared for 28 February - the day that marks three years since the crime in Tempe.
In Athens the rally will start at 12:00 at Syntagma. At the same time, rallies are expected in dozens of cities across the country.
Trains
No train will run on the national railway network on Saturday 28 February 2026, as workers go on a 24-hour strike to mark the three-year anniversary of the Tempi crime. No passenger or other services will be operated across the country.
In a statement, Hellenic Train clarifies that, due to the strike, on Saturday 28 February 2026, there will be no service on the entire railway network, calling on passengers to make arrangements for their travel in time.
Ports
Decisions to declare a 24-hour strike have been taken by the Panhellenic Seamen's Federation. The start time of the strike on ships will be 00.01 and the end time will be midnight on Saturday 28/2.
ADEDY and PDEDN
ADEDY has registered to participate in the rallies. «As A.D.E.D.Y. we call on public sector workers to give a massive, militant presence together with their unions and federations, together with all workers and youth, in the big rally on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at 12:00, at Syntagma and in the rallies that will be held throughout Greece.».
For its part, PDEDN states in its call: «We call on workers in Public Health - Welfare - EHIC to participate dynamically in the big rally Saturday 28 February 2026 at 12 noon at Syntagma and in the corresponding rallies organized throughout the country.».
OIE
The Federation of Private Employees of Greece, states: «We continue, on Saturday 28 February, workers in commerce, services and information technology, courier services, security and cleaning, we participate universally in the 24-hour nationwide strike called by the Federation of Private Employees of Greece and in the meetings of the unions.».
The calls of the Labour Centres
The Labour Centres of large provincial cities, such as Karditsa, Trikala, Chania, Heraklion and Lesvos, have called for 28 February.
The Labour Centre of Athens calls on all workers and the youth of Attica, all Federations, the Unions of the private and public sector, to give a massive, militant presence at the Constitution. The Labour Centre of Piraeus points out that: «On 28 February we are on strike, we give mass presence in the big rally at the Constitution at 12pm. We do not forget, we do not forgive. Either their profits or our lives». The Labour Centre of Lavrion and Eastern Attica is calling at Heroes Square in Lavrion at 12 noon, and for those who wish, at Syntagma at the same time.
The Federation of Builders of Greece calls for all construction sites to remain closed, while the Federation of Private Employees of Greece has also announced a 24-hour nationwide strike. «On Saturday 28 February, workers in Commerce, services and information technology, courier services, security and cleaning, we participate universally in the 24-hour nationwide strike called by the Federation of Private Employees of Greece and in the meetings of the unions!», stresses the Federation.
In Food - Tourism, hotel workers are going on a nationwide strike on 25 February, with a gathering at the Ministry of Labour, as an escalation station.
The Federation of Associations of Employees of Elected Regions of Greece (OΣYAPPE) pointing out that «we will not get used to the crime of Tempi», while the Greek Committee for International Reconciliation and Peace (EEDYE) also calls for participation.
