Not currently on the table is the possibility of writing off debts for debts created in the midst of pandemic. This was stressed by the Christos Staikouras, speaking on the First Programme of Hellenic Radio.
At the same time, the Minister for Finance noted that the Ministry of Finance will be close to society for as long as it is needed. He said that the country's cash reserves have decreased marginally, although - as Mr. Staikouras said - about 24 billion euros were given to the real economy.
In relation to resources from the Recovery Fund estimated that they will start coming in the first half of the year and will be directed towards the green economy and digitalisation. The total amount from the Recovery Fund is estimated at €5.5 billion for 2021.
Asked about the possibility of additional support measures, he said that it will depend on the evolution of the fiscal crisis, while the existing measures will continue at least until the first quarter of 2021.
Also for the refundable advance 5 stressed that tomorrow will be taken final decisions by the Ministry of Finance on whether to give a few days extension to the deadline for submitting applications for expressions of interest on the electronic platform of AADE for the 5th cycle of the Refundable Advance Payment.
Already applications via the online platform myBusinessSupport have reached 437,293, exceeding the number of potential beneficiaries estimated by the Ministry of Finance. The aim remains to disburse financial aid to beneficiaries in January. This will be preceded by the ministerial decision with the algorithm on the basis of which the final amount each beneficiary will receive will be determined.
