Another list of names that were monitored by the NSA and Predator was brought to light by the newspaper «Documento» in the context of the wiretapping and surveillance scandal.
Once again, the names on the list are surprising, as among others, the former chief of the EL.AS. and current Secretary General of the Ministry of Civil Protection, Michalis Karamalakis, but also the prosecutor, responsible for the EAP, Vasiliki Vlachou.
In fact, in a post on Twitter yesterday, in which he announced today's revelations, the editor and journalist of the newspaper «Documento» said that «the question that arises is whether some of the more than 100 people being monitored were under blackmail», asking «why the prosecutor of the NIS signed what the government wanted?».
New list #predator in #Documento. The chief of ELAS and the prosecutor of the NSA are under surveillance. The question is whether some of the more than 100 people under surveillance were under blackmail. Why was the NSA prosecutor signing whatever the government wanted?; pic.twitter.com/sdR2WUnXLD

However, once again, among the 33 names published today are close associates of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, political figures and journalists, as well as government spokesman Yannis Economou and Education Minister Niki Kerameos.

SYRIZA-PS: Mitsotakis is now accused of carrying out an unprecedented constitutional aberration
The strong reaction of SYRIZA - PS was caused yesterday by the premonition of new revelations about the wiretapping scandal, with the opposition calling on Kyriakos Mitsotakis to resign if he does not give convincing answers.
As SYRIZA-PS notes, «while Mr. Mitsotakis continues to hide and replaces his MPs from the Parliament's Institutional Committee in order to keep his responsibilities in the dark, new shocking revelations come to light from the newspaper Documento.
The revelations about the surveillance of the Chief of the Greek Police, the Prosecutor of the NAP, who until recently believed that she was unchecked but was herself «wired», as well as the financial prosecutor who handled the cases of Georgiades and Avramopoulos and concluded that the millions in their accounts were real but unclear, concern the very core of the functioning of the state and leave no room for hiding and evasion».
SYRIZA - PS stresses that «Mr. Mitsotakis is no longer accused of surveillance of his opponents and associates but of organizing and executing an unprecedented Constitutional and democratic diversion.
Either he will give convincing answers about the diversion or he should resign immediately, because what he has committed is a serious danger for democracy itself.
No authority in the State can no longer fail to react. No excuse can leave democracy unprotected. The immediate investigation of all aspects of this dark affair and the attribution of responsibility is now a democratic and constitutional obligation.».
