From today, Thursday, the information of citizens for the refund of the money they will receive from the power pass, however, this, it didn't go so well.
This is at least betrayed by the reactions of most household consumers so far who have been waiting for months for the settlement to be completed and to receive a welcome “relief” with the payment of the emergency financial assistance for their electricity bills from 1 December 2021 to 31 May 2022.
Several were those who saw amounts of EUR 20 and EUR 30 as relief refunds against the inflated electricity bills and the unmanageable levels of revaluation clause, failing of course to interpret the way in which the settlement was made and launched the retroactive compensation.
There are even more than a few cases of those who have seen zero or even negative amounts (!), such as the example given by a household consumer to NEWS 24/7, who saw zero compensation on the platform, while when he turned to the telephone support, the information he received was for a negative amount (-38 euros), receiving laughter from the other end of the line.
Here is another example of a domestic consumer who wanted to share it with us. As he told NEWS 24/7, apart from the consistency discount he received in December, the amount he will receive from the Power Pass is not even 30 euros. In fact, because of that discount, the settlement for the month of December yielded a negative result.
It should be noted that from tomorrow, Friday 15/07, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Finance, the aid amounts will start to be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
“The power went out” on Twitter
As of early Thursday morning, the power pass is at the top of Twitter's trends, with thousands of user comments, the majority of which so far leave a comical impression of the amount of compensation.
Not a few were those who wanted to share on social media the amounts of 20 and 30 euros that they will receive, along with their... pain, as they will have to pull themselves up the hill of paying the exorbitant electricity bills.
Twitter was set on fire by users who don't know whether to laugh or cry at the amounts they will receive. Several, however, preferred the former, probably thinking that humor is probably more useful than Power Passes compensation.

2.8 million applications
It should be noted that 2.8 million applications were submitted on the platform power pass and after the completion of the winding-up, a cumulative credit of EUR 280 million is expected to be granted for retroactive compensation.
Recalled, that the subsidy is given to those who had a total charge on electricity bills from 1 December 2021 to 31 May 2022 above EUR 30, with a minimum refund of EUR 18 and a maximum refund of no more than EUR 600. The amount of the aid is calculated on the basis of the total burden of the electricity price increase after deducting the sum of the discounts received by households during the period from the State and the electricity suppliers. For residential consumers, 60% of the increased cost of electricity charged is refunded for main residential bills issued between 01/12/2021 and 31/05/2022 irrespective of the consumption reference period of the bill. This means that it is the date of issue of the bill that counts and on the basis of this date the subsidy is granted and not the period of consumption.

“Considering that they have already committed EUR 280 million for the implementation of the measure and that, for some of our fellow citizens, clearance bills were issued within June 2022 which relate to the winter consumption period with a significant charge, the Government is extending the measure to bills issued in June,” the Ministry of Finance said.
More specifically, as the announcement of the Ministry of Finance stresses, based on the applications that have already been submitted to the Power Pass platform and without the need to submit a new application, in the next period, energy providers will receive the data for the bills issued in June. The June bills will be correlated with the declarations main residence and student residence already declared by beneficiaries for the month of May on the platform.
How the extra amount will be given
The total amount of aid for the period from 1 December to 30 June will then be recalculated and the additional amount will be paid into the bank accounts already declared by the beneficiaries by the end of August or early September at the latest.
It is noted that in the event that a beneficiary exceeds EUR 30 surcharge for the whole period from 1 December 2021 to 30 June 2022, will receive the total aid, i.e. the amount will be recalculated for the whole period. Similarly, the total aid for the period from 1 December 2021 to 30 June 2022 cannot exceed EUR 600
