The President of the Parliamentary Group of MP25, Yanis Varoufakis, has submitted a topical question to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the war in Ukraine, asking, among other things, which realistic solution the Prime Minister prefers in order to immediately stop hostilities and also what diplomatic moves the government is making to promote such a peace solution.

To the Prime Minister
Subject: Given the stalemate in the war in Ukraine, what realistic solution does the Prime Minister prefer to bring an immediate end to hostilities? What diplomatic moves is the government making to promote such a peace solution?;
Prime Minister,
As the war in Ukraine rages on, taking thousands of lives, plunging Europe into insecurity, and handing our citizens over to the monster of Insecurity, the question that every government is called upon to answer is twofold: «What peace solution do you propose?» and «What are you doing to implement it as soon as possible?»
Do you agree, Mr Mitsotakis, that, given the (correct) decision of the US and NATO not to intervene militarily, the heroic resistance of the Ukrainians is not enough to defeat the Russian invasion army and thus the number of victims will systematically increase?;
Do you agree, Mr Mitsotakis, that sanctions against Russia, even to prevent future Russian invasions, will not bring a ceasefire and withdrawal of Russian invasion forces in the near future?;
Do you agree, Mr Mitsotakis, that in the Nuclear Age, peace will only come as a result of a compromise between the two major nuclear powers involved, the US and Russia in this case?;
Do you disagree, Mr Mitsotakis, that such a compromise, which guarantees the Ukrainians independence and the right to democracy and prosperity, is only possible if the West is ready (in exchange for the withdrawal of Russian troops and Moscow's recognition of Ukraine's independence) to guarantee Ukraine's neutrality and a special protection status for the Russian-speaking people of Ukraine?e.g. an agreement similar to the one guaranteeing the two communities of Northern Ireland)?;
As far as your government is concerned,
Do you think, Mr Mitsotakis, that by contenting yourself with the role of an ardent applauder of NATO and EU positions and announcements, you are improving or marginalizing Greek diplomacy, especially in our region?;
With what steps is the Greek Diplomacy promoting the immediate pacification of Ukraine today?;
