In Prosecutor's Office of Supreme Court the former minister came in, Nikos Pappas, accompanied by his lawyers, Yannis Mantzouranis and Vangelis Georgakopoulos, and filed a complaint against the chairman of the preliminary investigation committee of the Parliament, Stavros Keletsi.
In particular, Mr Pappas accuses Mr Keletsi of tampering with the minutes of the Parliament's pre-trial committee, arguing that essential statements by Christos Kalogritsa on sms have been removed from the minutes. Mr. Pappas with his lawsuit, attributes to Mr. Keletsi, the offences of false certification, forgery and breach of duty and calls for the chairman of the committee to be criminally controlled.
In a statement, Pappas said:
«This process may turn into a parody, a travesty, a tragedy and a political mockery for its initiators. But we will not allow illegality to become an everyday reality.
We have filed a lawsuit against the Chairman of the Commission of Mr. Keletsi, who has admitted that at will he will erase and write from the minutes as if the minutes are his shopping urn. This will not be tolerated and we are sending an absolutely clear message. Everyone will be held accountable.».
Furthermore, Yannis Mantzouranis said: «The minutes of the House are not a draft love letter of the President or anyone else who can write and erase. The committee acts as a prosecuting authority. It applies and is required to apply the Code of Criminal Procedure. Testimony, when sworn, is evidence which must be accurately recorded. This cannot be violated by the President or anyone else and anyone who violates it commits criminal offences.».
«The minutes of the Parliament are nobody's property. History cannot be falsified by anyone,» Vangelis Georgakopoulos said.
