The Municipal Party «All Together» issued a press release on the ongoing water supply problems in Kythera:
«The Mayor should apologise for the water supply problems»
Despite the commitments of the outgoing Municipal Authority the intense water supply problems continue in many areas of Kythera. Residents, holidaymakers and tourism professionals complain about water supply interruptions, low pressure, «cloudy» water in Diakofti, Karavas and many other areas.
The candidate for Mayor of Kythera - Antikythera, Mr. Zacharias Souris on the occasion of the water supply problems made the following statement:
«The outgoing Mayor Mr. Harhalakis has to apologize for his administrative incompetence that has led for another year our islands do not have sufficient quality water. Mr. Harhalakis, who has the ability to pontificate for hours on the value of silence, has nothing to say about the suffering to which residents and visitors to our islands are subjected daily.
Perhaps he thinks the problem will be forgotten by the municipal elections. But he is very much mistaken. His failure to provide citizens and visitors with the most precious and necessary commodity, namely water, makes him accountable.
The answer will come on 8 October.
