New increase in the inflation in our country, as according to Eurostat's first estimate, they jumped by 10.7% year-on-year in May. At the Eurozone level, inflation is again flying high with a new all-time record high after last month's 7.4% at 8.1%. The rate is higher than estimates of 7.4%.
According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority, inflation in Greece reached 10.2% in April, returning to the levels of the 1990s.

According to ELSTAT data for April 2022, the consumer price index stood at 10.2%. Compared to March 2022, it showed an increase of 2.1% compared to an increase of 0.9% recorded in the corresponding period of 2021.
In more detail, natural gas, in one year, had an increase of 122%, 88% electricity and 55% heating oil. Fuel price increases amounted to 29% and 15.8% for air transport. Oils increased 22%, meats 14%, vegetables by 13%, while dairy products increased by 11.7%. In total, bread increased by 10%.
