Annual inflation in the euro area is expected to reach 1.9% in February 2026, up from 1.7% in January, according to a preliminary estimate released today by the European Statistical Office, Eurostat.
Looking at the main components of inflation in the euro area, services are expected to have the highest annual rate in February (3.4%, compared to 3.2% in January), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (2.6%, stable compared to January), non-energy industrial goods (0.7%, compared to 0.4% in January) and energy (-3.2%, compared to -4.0% in January).
In Greece, inflation is estimated to rise slightly to 3% in February, from 2.9% in January.
In February, the highest inflation rates in the euro area were registered in Slovakia (41 TtP3T), Croatia (3.91 TtP3T) and Lithuania (3.21 TtP3T).
In the same month, the lowest inflation rates were registered in Cyprus (0.91 TtP3T), France (1.11 TtP3T) and Belgium (1.41 TtP3T).
