The Municipality of Alimos invites residents to a public briefing on Sunday, March 15, regarding the new proposal of the Trifyllion Foundation for the Kytheria Avenue property.
An issue that has been of great concern to the local community of Alimos and has caused reactions in the past, is once again on the table. The Municipality of Alimos is organizing open information - consultation next Sunday, at 10:30 a.m., in Alimos Music School, on the developments around the plot of land at 82-86 Kytheria Avenue.
The chronicle of the case
The history of the property begins in 2004, when the Kytheria Building Association donated the land to the Trifyllio Foundation. The donation was made with a clear public purpose: the completion and operation of a Kytheria Spiritual Centre.
However, in 2023, the atmosphere was inflamed when the contract between the Foundation and the company DAKON became known. The agreement provided for the demolition of the unfinished building and the construction of a complex of apartment buildings, a move that confronted both the Municipality and the local residents, who demanded the preservation of the public character of the land.
The new proposal and the role of citizens
Recently, the Trifyllion Foundation submitted a new proposal, which will be presented in detail during Sunday's meeting. The aim of the municipal authority is to have full transparency of the data and to listen to citizens' views before final decisions are taken.
The Mayor of Alimos, Andreas Kondylis, underlines the importance of mass participation of residents.
