New hostilities between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces took place today, Armenia's defence ministry said, a day after dozens of soldiers from both sides were killed in the worst clashes that have erupted between the two neighbouring countries since the 2020 war.
At least 49 Armenians and 50 Azeri soldiers were killed yesterday, each side said, with the two countries blaming each other for the start of hostilities.
Azerbaijan made use of artillery, mortars and small arms during its attack this morning, Armenia's Defense Ministry noted in a statement.
«The situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border remains tense,» he added, reiterating Yerevan's position that Baku launched an attack on its territory.
