Democrats take control of Congress by winning the second Senate seat for Georgia
Democrats today won the second seat for the US Senate in the Georgia runoff election, giving the party control of the chamber and boosting President-elect Joe Biden's prospects for his ambitious legislative agenda.
Democrat John Ossoff garnered 50.3% and Republican David Perdue 49.7% with 98% of the votes estimated to be cast in this state, according to Edison Research data.
