Lawsuit filed with the Supreme Court regarding Folli Follie, by Flambouraris, Haritsis, and Arachovitis

SYRIZA MPs Alexis Charitsis, Alekos Flambouraris, and Stavros Arachovitis filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court against the New Democracy government's unsuccessful attempt to fabricate a case against Folli Follie.

SYRIZA officials responded from the Supreme Court with a lawsuit against the government's slanderous allegations of their alleged involvement in the Folli Follie case.

SYRIZA MPs found themselves targeted with false accusations by media outlets and websites friendly to the New Democracy party, which adopted the propaganda of the Prime Minister's Office.

We filed a criminal complaint so that the truth would come to light, proving that the attempt to slander us is intended to undermine SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance. In my opinion – but I think also in the opinion of the majority of the people – this effort is being made in collaboration with the New Democracy government and hidden or overt circles with the aim of slandering the SYRIZA government for four and a half years. This will be proven here as well. It has already become clear that the efforts of these shadowy circles will come to nothing.

As I had previously announced, today I filed a criminal complaint with the Supreme Court prosecutor against the person who allegedly implicates me in a case with which I have never had the slightest connection. It is my firm principle to respond to political accusations in a political manner. However, when my honor and reputation are at stake, it is my duty and my right, as it is the duty and right of every citizen, to use all legal means to defend myself. In this sense, from now on, anyone who engages in such vulgar slander will face the consequences of the law.
