His regret for the refusal of some health professionals to get vaccinated against the new coronavirus, expressed, in statements to the website tsirigofm the governor of the Kythera Hospital «Trifyllion», George Megalokonomos.
He reported on the uninterrupted operation of the hospital with security staff for today, Thursday, 26/08, the day of the workers' mobilization against the compulsory vaccine for covid-19. He pointed out that the vaccination programme continued as normal, stressing that 9 out of 10 people hospitalized in ICUs from coronavirus (in the country, apparently) are unvaccinated.
He described the vaccination as an «act of social responsibility», and conveyed the shocking information that there are children and newborns hospitalised with coronavirus in paediatric hospitals in the country.
In detail the statements of the governor of the «Trifyllion» Hospital, as published by the website tsirigofm.
«It is sad that health professionals refuse to be vaccinated. Today our hospital operated normally with security staff. All scheduled vaccinations were carried out in our vaccination centre. So far 70% of the hospital staff has been vaccinated and I hope and pray that in the coming days official scientific data and not other union motives will prevail and everyone will be vaccinated.
Because you know today 9 out of 10 people in intensive care units are unvaccinated. And there are already children and newborns in pediatric hospitals with coronavirus. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to call on those of our compatriots who have not been vaccinated to hurry up and contact the Kythera hospital to make an appointment immediately.
Vaccination is an act of social responsibility!»
