Monday 5 August 2024 - An evening that will remain indelible in the memory of those who attended took place in Kato Chora Mylopotamos, in Kythera. Manolis Mitsias, one of the leading performers of Greek song, gave the audience a musical experience that combined history and art, in a unique setting under the summer sky.
This evening, organized by the Mylopotamos Public Works Association, was undoubtedly one of the most important moments in the history of the association. It was a special honour for Mylopotamos and for the whole of Kythera to host such a great artist, who managed to enchant and move the audience with his unique performances.
The post-Byzantine castle town of Kato Chora provided the ideal setting for the musical feast that followed. The melodies, interpreted with the incomparable art of Manolis Mitsia, touched not only the evocative atmosphere of the place, but also the hearts of all those who were lucky enough to be there.
“50 Years Gold” - A Musical Journey
The programme of the evening included songs that have marked the Greek music scene over the last 50 years. Manolis Mitsias, accompanied by excellent musicians, presented in a unique way the works of great artists such as Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis, Loukianos Keilaidonis, Yannis Spanos, Nikos Gatsos and Thanos Mikroutsikos.
They listened to favourite songs such as “Elefsina”, “Never”, “Look to remember me”, “Because I love you”, “Look to see”, but also “Piroga” and “We will never find Kythera”. The audience couldn't help but hum along with him, creating an atmosphere of emotion and nostalgia.
A Unique Artistic Exhibition
This evening was not just a concert, but a true artistic experience. The enchanting Tsirigotiko landscape of Kato Chora became one with the supreme artistic creation of Manolis Mitsia, offering the audience an experience that will remain indelible.
Manolis Mitsias, with his unparalleled voice and his artistic sensitivity, managed to create an evening that will remain forever engraved in the memories of all those who experienced it.
