Thanasis Polykandriotis at LEGOBALLS

AEK Athens, mourning and the incredible stories behind songs - myths!

The LEGOBALLS and FOXBET bid farewell to 2025 with a special, festive episode full of emotion, stories and musical history. On Sunday at 13:00 we host on our YouTube channel the great conductor Thanasis Polykandriotis.

At the LEGOBALLS table, the man who identified his name with the bouzouki opens his heart and shares moments of his life that left an indelible imprint on the country's culture. He speaks passionately about AEK Athens, the love he has carried since childhood, the glorious figures of the club who were his friends and reveals unknown stories that illuminate his deep connection with the yellow and black club.

Thanasis Polykandriotis remembers and narrates unique incidents with huge figures of Greek singing, such as Yannis Parios and Stratos Dionysiou, while unfolding the stories behind songs - myths that marked generations: «You took it all and left», «Come on, here's to her», «My suffering is a burden».

He goes back in time to the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games, when he was the first to enter the stadium with 47 bouzoukia, in a moment that went down in history and, as he confesses, captivated him forever. The incredible story behind the creation of the «Zebeke of Eudocia», at the prompting of Manos Loizos, with him participating in the composition of a piece - a symbol - has a special place.
