Manolis Charos« exhibition »The floating time you see", which opens on Thursday 29 February 2024, will present works created during the period 2017-2024.
Manolis Charos writes: «Full moons, dusty moons, blood moons, rays of light, twilight and twilight, horizons. Seas that open up and open the mind as they remove the border of reality. Images that struggle to bind time. Isn't that what painting is? Floating time as you see it. [...] These works took a long time to realize.
But they were made, in the way that I had been striving for many years, to work on a picture freed from the limits of the canvas and the laws of the easel; with what I had managed to learn in painting, in printmaking and in all modern media.
The images became-existed, and slowly over time they acquired material substance.
While they took years to build, all the projects, they all want to appear in the moment.».
