Internal elections in New Democracy to elect the presidents DEEP and DIMTO, members of the administrative boards of party organizations and delegates, will be held nationwide on October 24. Elections are also being held in Kythira for the local party organization, with reports indicating that there is increased interest among citizens to participate.
The outgoing president of the Municipal Council of Kythira, Dimitris Kalligeros will not run again due to incompatibility under the party's constitution, as he is President of the Kythira Port Fund. It should be noted that the statute stipulates that the following are incompatible: a) members of the Parliamentary Group, b) single-member bodies of first and second degree local authorities, c) active representatives of the ONNED, d) seconded and transferred employees of political offices, e) employees of the Party's central offices, f) candidates for Parliament and the European Parliament, and g) regional governors, deputy regional governors, and mayors, provided they have not resigned from office at least six months prior to the respective elections.

For the first time, electronic voting is being introduced for internal elections within New Democracy organizations.

All members of the New Democracy party who are up to date with their dues are eligible to vote.

All members of the New Democracy party who are up to date with their membership fees and submit their request to participate in the electronic voting process in a timely manner are eligible to vote electronically. The electronic voting process will be conducted through the «Zeus Digital Ballot Box» of EDYTE (GRNET).
Those who wish to vote electronically must submit a request online. until Friday, October 15, 2021.
Requests to participate in electronic voting for internal party elections are now closed. If you have submitted a request to participate, you will be informed of its progress by email in the coming days.
Those who wish to vote in person may do so on the day of the vote at polling stations – physical ballot boxes designated for each Municipal Local Organization.
