Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, accompanied by his daughter Sophia, attended the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Dionysius of Areopagitos and then attended the Water Sanctification Ceremony at the Athens Reservoir.
«Sunny Greece celebrates the Epiphany with the splendour it deserves, drawing strength and hope from its message, in a world troubled by wars in our wider neighbourhood and with the internal political scene overshadowed by the loss of former Prime Minister Kostas Simitis and the great ordeal of Archbishop Anastasios of Albania. We pray for him, as he has always prayed for us for many decades,» the Prime Minister said in his message.
«But the message of the Lights is at its core a message of optimism, hope and confidence. And indeed Greece today is a beacon of stability in an unstable world and a country that is making progress despite the difficulties in a general environment of precipitation,» he said.
«Let's keep this message of optimism today. I would like to wish everyone a happy birthday, health, happiness and a good year,» he concluded.
Mr. J.
