A board meeting was held today (Thursday, May 23) at PAOK FC, convened by Ivan Savvidis, with the owner of the «black and whites» presiding.
The majority shareholder of PAOK FC was visibly delighted after Razvan Lucescu's team recently won the Super League championship, and he pledged that all necessary steps would be taken immediately with regard to Nea Toumba and the training center..
«I want to congratulate and thank you for this incredible success. Only a malicious person would say that success on the field happened without the support of so many people working tirelessly and quietly behind the scenes.
And you, my colleagues on the Board of Directors, were my extension. None of us has yet realized our share in this success. The history of PAOK has shown us that success is unattainable if we do not work as one, with absolute unity,» Savvidis said initially, adding:
«Few believed it, only we know how meticulously we played this chess game and in the end we prevailed over our opponents, whatever method they used. Nothing came by chance.».
The following day, the influential PAOK figure proceeded to emphasize the following points:
«But enough celebrating. I ask you to get back to work. We have learned to live like champions, so we know that the battle is eternal and that we must start working towards our next goals today. On the competitive side, my only goal is for us to be fully prepared to claim a spot in the UEFA Champions League League Stage.
In terms of infrastructure, there should be no further delays in starting work on the training center, but we must also clarify the situation regarding Nea Toumba. No matter how many setbacks there have been on the geopolitical scene, we must find ways to overcome them. The 100th anniversary must find us with a training center ready and a stadium under construction, at the very least.
He did not fail to comment on the upcoming elections at the Hellenic Football Federation, saying: «We no longer have to prove to anyone what kind of football we envision, so we must ensure that reactionary forces do not prevail in the upcoming EPO elections.».
For their part, all members of the Board of Directors also thanked Ivan Savvidis for his support and composure during difficult times, which was the reason why they were quickly overcome.
