Focusing on the smile and the health of the students, Kythera High School actively participated in the celebration of World Oral Health Day, hosting an important educational and preventive action in collaboration with the Piraeus Dental Association.
The activity, which is part of the experiential learning framework for the school year 2025-2026, aimed to raise awareness among adolescents about the importance of oral hygiene and the prevention of diseases of the oral community.
The day's programme consisted of two main strands:
- Educational Awareness: The students were informed in detail about ways to maintain their oral health, proper brushing techniques and the role of nutrition in protecting their teeth.
- Dental Checkup: A free screening was carried out on 43 students, with the written consent of their parents and guardians.
Voluntary Contribution by Local Scientists
Two dentists, members of the Piraeus Dental Association, who are active on the island, undertook the implementation of the preventive check-up on a voluntary basis. κ. Nicolopoulou and the κ. Kasimatis.
The management and the teaching staff of the high school expressed their warm thanks to the Piraeus Dental Association and the two doctors for their valuable contribution to the promotion of the health of the student community of Kythera.
