In a post on social media, the Mayor of Kythira, Efstratios Charhalakis placed on the recent dismissal/resignation of Spilios Livanos from the Ministry of Rural Development, which it considers to be correct.
Mr.Harchalakis refers to the biggest problem of modern Greece, which is none other than the lack of trust between the citizen and the State. A problem which is rooted in a lack of education and social empathy. In fact, as he says, we are the only country where the authorities «issue documents and certificates for any legal use», while, he does not fail to mention the compensation of the fire victims of Ilia in 2007, which turned into a fiasco, precisely because the State overestimated the sense of responsibility of citizens, announcing financial assistance through an affidavit. Which was filled in by those affected ... and those not affected.
The mayor of Kythera cautions decades-old attitudes that have been imprinted in the collective memory as a necessity of existence and warns that if there is no catharsis in parties and consciences, «we will be discussing the same things all our lives».
