Pensioners receiving up to €800, rather than €600 as in previous years, will receive a €250 accuracy check this year.
This was stated by Finance Minister Christos Staikouras, specifying the measures announced by the Prime Minister at the Thessaloniki International Fair.
At the same time, this one-off payment will also be received by 35,000 uninsured elderly people registered with OPEC and 172,000 recipients of disability benefits.
As Mr. Staikouras said, the package is worth €1.1 billion and is based on three pillars: emergency aid for low-income pensioners, permanent abolition of the solidarity contribution for pensioners, and a permanent increase in pensions, with 1.5 million Greeks seeing an increase of at least 6% in 2023.
