The immortal Greek bureaucracy it struck again! Her victim this time, the vaccination of foreigners, which seems to be stalled, despite legislation at central level.
The theory is good, but in practice, the system is falling apart, with the various agencies throwing the ball around to each other in a case that seems to have been started wrong from the start.
In fact, it started with a nice lampoon, in the form of legislation that was published in the Government Gazette on 09/03/21. It sets out the online application procedure for those foreigners who do not have A.M.C.A. or Temporary Foreigner's Insurance and Health Care Number (P.A.A.A.Y.P.A.), through which the platform emvolio.gov.gr can obtain a temporary A.M.C.A., so that they can then be vaccinated.
This is confirmed by the announcement, dated 16/03/21, of the Trifyllion Hospital, through which the involvement of the C.E.P. in the process is also communicated.
And this is where the mess begins.
From the K.E.P. Kythera declare ignorance on the issue, as written on the website adelinfm on Friday morning, 19/03. Something we confirmed in a telephone conversation with Mrs. Eleni Magonezou, Ms. Magonezou told us that since last year, the circular for the granting of the A.M.K.A. is constantly changing and as we speak, there is no clear answer from the central authorities on what is to be done.
