In a post on social media the Mayor of Kythera Efstratios Harhalakis presented pictures of the new face of Avlemona.

«A small taste of the study of the total regeneration of Avlemonas, funded by our Municipality and implemented by the architectural office of Mr. Thanasis Vlachogiannis, whom I want to publicly congratulate for his excellent work. The study has been unanimously approved by the Council of Architecture and in addition to the overall redevelopment of all the common areas of the settlement, it includes new water supply networks and services, undergrounding of public utility networks (PPC and OTE), complete flood protection of the settlement as well as a sewerage system for future use. It is the first fully integrated redevelopment project to be submitted to a funding programme.
At the same time, the regeneration studies of Potamos and the updating of the regeneration studies of Chora are progressing, while within the next few months the regeneration studies of Kapsali will be completed and other settlements will follow in the next few years!
