A program to replace old, energy-intensive machinery in agricultural and livestock production, announced Deputy Minister of Environment, Mr. Nikos Tagaras.
Specifically, the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Nikolaos Tagaras, responding to question no. 18/4-10-2021 of the first cycle of the New Democracy MP for Karditsa, Mr. Georgios Kotsou, on the subject: «Possibility of subsidizing farmers for the installation of photovoltaic systems to offset energy produced and consumed,» emphasized the following: «With regard to improving energy efficiency, measures will be promoted to replace existing machinery and equipment used in both agricultural and livestock facilities and farms with new, high-energy-efficiency ones. Priority will also be given to machinery and equipment characterized by high energy consumption, such as tractors, harvesting and threshing machines, cotton pickers and seeders on farms, and milking machines, incubators, cleaning machines, and feeders on livestock farms.

Mr. Tagaras also announced that a new initiative is already planned for early 2022 in Rural Development Program (RDP), in which, among other eligible investments, energy production from renewable sources for energy exploitation needs, in order to contribute to sustainability the environment and the rational use of natural resources, taking into account estimates of climate crisis-change, as well as improving the environmental subsidies for the farm.
