While the government is increasing pressure on unvaccinated citizens, large percentage police officers who are responsible for monitoring measures against coronavirus, remain unvaccinated.
In particular, according to a report in the newspaper «Kathimerini» citing updated data, the percentage of people vaccinated in EL.AS., which is primarily the service responsible for enforcing coronavirus measures, stands at 58%.
In Attica only 53% of police officers are fully vaccinated, with the corresponding percentage in Thessaloniki reaches 54%, while in frontline services (Immediate Action, DIAS) the percentage is even lower, with experts attributing this to the low average age.
A high-ranking officer, in fact, points out in Kathimerini that if those who have fallen ill are added and those on long-term leave or serving in diplomatic missions are subtracted, then the percentage of unvaccinated personnel falls to 32%.
The newspaper, however, points out that in frontline services (Immediate Action, DIAS), the percentage is even lower, with experts attributing this to the low average age.
