The International Film and Dance Festival – AVDP13 will take place in Athens, at Bagion Hotel, at the Astor cinema and in OLVIO theater.
The program is structured around three areas of action, which are implemented in three corresponding cultural spaces: AVDP13PROMENADE #bageion, AVDP13FILMS #astor and AVDP13PERFORMANCES #olvio.
The axis AVDP13PROMENADE #bageion will take place on December 11, 2022, at Bagion Hotel. It includes nine performance pieces, which take place simultaneously for 60 minutes in various areas of the hotel, where the audience is free to move around. The event concludes with the audience gathering in one place for a 30-minute performance by Alexandros Anastasiadis “Greco”.
The axis AVDP13FILMS #astor will take place on December 12 and 13, 2022, at the cinema Astor. Its program includes screenings of 60 short, medium, and feature-length films, which comprise a mosaic of innovative works from 28 countries and highlight synergies between different artistic disciplines. Also, as a continuation of AVDP's collaborations with videodance festivals and cultural institutions in Greece and abroad, dance films from the Educational & Social Actions of the Greek National Opera, Festival Quartiers Danses, CINEDANS, POOL – MOVEMENT ART FILM Festival Berlin, Films.Dance, Parallel Art Foundation, Choreoscope Barcelona Dance Film Festival, and Limon Dance Company. At the same time, visitors have the opportunity to watch an interactive digital work by Chris Haring in the cinema foyer.
The axis AVDP13PERFORMANCES #olvio will take place on December 12 and 13, 2022, at OLVIO theater. It includes performances by students from Professional Dance Schools (Aktina, Mari Hatzimichali, Maro Marmarinou, Moragemu) as part of the festival's educational activities. In addition, the audience will be able to watch works by young choreographers. Barbara Bardaka and Xenia Stathouli, which are part of the new Young Choreographers theme.
Finally, the festival hosts an online workshop entitled Arranging Movement in Film and the relationship between dance and cinematic movement from Sarah Möller, partner from POOL – MOVEMENT ART FILM Festival Berlin (December 10).
