Australia: Document may cause new problems for Djokovic

The Serbian had stated that he had not traveled 14 days before going to Australia, but a new document appears to contradict him.

There appear to be many more episodes to come in the saga of the tennis superstar's participation., Novak Djokovic in this year's Australian Open.

A document appears to be creating new problems for the Serb, who has started training in the land of kangaroos.

According to documents released by the federal court, Novak Djokovic had stated in the Travel Declaration, required for entry into the country, that he had not traveled in the last 14 days prior to his trip to Australia (January 6).

However, this does not seem to be true, as social media is once again exposing the Serbian tennis player., who traveled from Belgrade to Marbella, Spain, during this period.

The Australians claim that the matter has been referred to the government, which is investigating whether Djokovic made a false statement.

It should be emphasized, of course, that what could «save» him is that told border officials that Tennis Australia had filled out the form for him.

The penalty for providing false information is up to 12 months' imprisonment.

As everything indicates, by tomorrow (12/1) the decision of the Minister of Immigration, Alex Hawke, who has the authority to decide on the cancellation of Novak Djokovic's visa, will be known.
