His opposition to the the manner in which it was perceived as participating the abstention from the extraordinary meeting (Tuesday, July 27, 2021) with the procedure by circulation using email expressed to Kythera.News the councillor George Didimiotis. He even shared with us the clarifying message he sent that day to the chairman of the Municipal Council. Read below:

Mr President and dear colleagues,

This letter is to inform you that I did not participate in the rotating council. I declared myself absent as I had no intention of participating by email. I gave my consent to the leader of the party, D. Kontoleon, to declare my absence because I felt it was appropriate and polite for the chairman of the council to be informed. However, this does not constitute participation in the council but the opposite. Abstention is abstention and not «a little participation».

By this message, I declare that I had no participation in the council and the mention of my name in the email from the leader was only to indicate my absence. Please kindly take note of my declaration of absence from the special meeting of the Town Council by email on 27/07/2021.

Here we are in August and we are discussing the obvious when in other places these issues have been resolved for decades. Personally I have raised the issue as a citizen and as an elected official and as a professional many times. Finally it is decided because you have reached an impasse to give a solution with smears once again , insulting the intelligence of our fellow citizens for a long time by continuing to insult and the institutions of local government by bringing back the mailing by mail. .

I personally abstain. But I am here to provide permanent and real solutions after public consultation with society, not to make up my mind. .
