At High Level Highlevel Conferenceon Coastal and Maritime Tourism, co-organized in Athens last Friday 4 June 2021, the World Tourism Organization and the Ministry of Tourism, participated, representing the Attica Region, the Vice-Regional Governor of the Attica Islands, Ms Vasso Theodorakopoulou - Bogri .
In her statement in the context of the campaign to promote the islands of Attica, of Troizinias and of Methana, stressed that they are safe destinations for visitors with many comparative advantages, such as the unparalleled hospitality of their inhabitants, the beauty of their coasts and their idyllic landscapes, while he referred to their religious pilgrimages, their archaeological and architectural wealth and the fact that they are a paradise for water sports.
He also stressed that the proximity to the capital and the regular ferry services connecting it with Athens make the islands an ideal destination for short holidays.
Finally, the Vice-Regional Governor referred to the efforts made by the Region of Attica and the Regional Governor, George Patoulis, for the sustainable development and the social sustainability and their emphasis on promoting and strengthening the thematic tourism on the islands of Attica.
