«The party cannot be exposed with some people who play Trojan Horse games with the Southwest,» said the PASOK-Charity Movement president, commenting this morning on ANT1 on the developments that led to the deletion of Eva Kaili. Androulakis stressed that he would not accept any obstacle to the effort of PASOK-KINAL.

The president of PASOK-Movement for Change described the last time he spoke with Ms.Kaili a week ago in the presence of other MEPs. He said that Eva Kaili told him «you wrongly emptied me» on the Qatar issue. «I took a decision to defend the party,» Nikos Androulakis stressed.

He added that the behaviour of the de-registered MEP after his complaint to the Supreme Court about the predator surveillance against him had put her out of PASOK and yesterday's revelations were the straw that broke the camel's back. ‘From July 26 onwards I was led to take a decision to distance myself from Ms Kaili. From the moment I denounced the Pretador case, Mrs Kaili was saying that it was a common thing and it has happened to others,« Androulakis said. He claimed that he had told the Greek MEP since September that she would not be a PASOK-KINAL candidate again.

D. Mantzos: We call on Mrs. Kaili to surrender her seat to PASOK-Movement for Change

PASOK-Movement for Change asked Eva Kaili to give up her seat in the European Parliament. Party spokesman Dimitris Mantzos spoke earlier in the morning on the «Good Morning» show on SKAI television station and commenting on the latest developments with Eva Kaili, he said that «she has for months now taken very specific and unbridgeable distances and differentiations from PASOK-Movement for Change, the positions and values it expresses.» Mantzos pointed out three facts to substantiate his above report. He said specifically:

«Firstly, within 24 hours of Mr Androulakis' complaint to the Supreme Court Prosecutor's Office at the end of July for attempted installation of Predator, Ms Kaili comes out and says, before the Southwest even says it, that wiretapping is common and happens everywhere, trying to downplay the issue.

Secondly, at the end of August, Mrs.Kaili, in close harmony with the European People's Party, the New Democracy Party and the Maximou Mansion, prevents the Plenary of the European Parliament, as well as the PEGA Committee of Inquiry, from examining the issue.

And, thirdly, at the end of November, in the plenary session of the European Parliament, he is singing paeans for Qatar, when all of Europe and the whole world is talking about an opaque awarding of the World Cup and, above all, about a systematic violation of labour rights in that country.».

The PASOK-Movement for Change press spokesman stressed the immediate response of Nikos Androulakis to Mrs Kaili's references to Qatar, saying that «there is no more resounding response from a political party than for the President to come out live on a television network and declare that the MEP expresses personal views which are contrary to the principles and values of the Movement».

«These three reasons are enough for Nikos Androulakis to have decided not to include Ms.Kaili in any PASOK-Movement for Change ballot», Mr.Mantzos said, adding that «in addition, we now have a major political, moral and legal issue. An issue of opacity, alleged corruption, an issue of political ethics, which cannot be tolerated.

He described as self-evident and automatic the deletion of Ms. Kaili by decision of Nikos Androulakis, stressing that «we now call on her to surrender the seat to the party with which she was elected. And this should be a strong message about what we at PASOK-Movement for Change mean when we talk about renewal of values. No tolerance for corruption and opacity. Everything and everyone in the light. We will be uncompromising and unconditional in any such case.».

Dimitris Mantzos also attacked those who associate the case of Eva Kaili with the eavesdropping scandal, on the occasion of «a game that we see since yesterday on social media», he said:

«Trolls do their job and get paid for it, but healthy social media users should know the following:

Firstly, there is no Predator in the case of Mrs Kaili. She was checked like all MEPs and their offices after the attack on Nikos Androulakis' mobile phone and nothing was found.

Secondly, we do not even know that there is any monitoring of Mrs Kaili.

And, thirdly, this is not a matter of national security. The Belgians are investigating a common criminal offence, a case of common criminality. The Androulakis-Koukakis wiretaps were not about criminal offences, but about alleged national security reasons.».

«All the more reason, therefore, for the Prime Minister to lift the secrecy of the National Security Service and ask its commanders to come to Parliament now and tell the citizens the reason for the surveillance of Nikos Androulakis», added the PASOK-Charity Movement Press Spokesman:

«That means fighting in the spotlight and that's what we are doing. PASOK is a great party in the minds of our people with principles, values and proposals. And this will be seen at the ballot box. We trust in the institutions and justice. There are others who in the past and today are playing with the institutions».
