The Municipal Port Fund of Kythera promotes the utilization of its property and the upgrading of the services provided in the main port of the island. With its decision No. 8/2026 (IDA: EOKOOLVF-HON), it announces an open, oral and bidding auction for the lease of four (4) parts of a property, built in 1997, in Makronissi Diakofti.

The Sections for Lease and their Uses

The four sections of the ground floor property (Coordinates: 36.270238, 23.079455) are intended for specific business uses, enhancing both traveler service and the local market:

Section 1 (6,04 sq.m.): It is intended for services for the sale of ferry and tourist tickets. The lessee expressly undertakes to clean and equip (with sanitary products and cleaning agents) the public toilets of the building on a daily basis. The minimum first offer (monthly rent) is set at 150,00€.
Section 2 (6,25 sq.m.): It is also intended for services for the sale of ferry and tourist tickets. The minimum threshold for the first bid is set at 150,00€.
Section 3 (15,73 sq.m.): It is intended for retail trade (e.g. mini market, food, bakery, convenience store, gift/craft goods). The minimum threshold for the first bid is set at 800,00€.
Section 4 (54.32 sq.m. of covered space + 48.54 sq.m. of semi-outdoor space for benches): It is intended for a Health Care Establishment (e.g. restaurant, grill, snack bar, café). The minimum threshold for the first bid is set at 1.350,00€.

The duration of the lease for all sections is set at five (5) years from the signing of the lease contract.

When and Where the Auction will take place

The procedure will take place on Tuesday 2 June 2026 (11:00 - 12:00) in the «Mayor Artemios Kalligeros» hall of the Municipal Store of Kythera in Chora. If the tenders continue uninterrupted, the Committee may extend the closing date of the procedure.

Basic Conditions of Participation

Interested parties (natural or legal persons) are invited to submit a complete file of supporting documents, including:

Tax (AADE) and Insurance (EFKA) information in force, as well as a certificate of non-debt to the Municipality and the DLT of Kythera.
Proof of financial standing for the last three years (e.g. E9, balance sheets), equal to 100% of the first offer for one year per department.
A participation guarantee of 10% on the minimum first offer threshold for one year.
An extract from your criminal record (or equivalent document) proving that you have not been irrevocably convicted of serious offences (e.g. participation in a criminal organisation, bribery, fraud, etc.).
The last bidder is required to present a reliable guarantor, who will co-sign the minutes and the final lease.

The declaration (No. Prot.: 44/6-5-2026) has been posted on the website of the Municipality of Kythera, with the signature of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Municipal Port Fund of Kythera, Mr. Dimitrios Kalligeros.
