One of the most iconic and beloved dining and entertainment venues in Kythira, «Arachtopoleio» in Avlemonas, is preparing to bring its long-standing presence on the island to a close.
After 23 full summers that have become part of the memories of thousands of locals and visitors, the owner, Stavros Kyriakakis, officially announced that the shop «will set sail on a caique and search for its next port,» marking the end of an entire era for Avlemonas’s nightlife and daily life.
The announcement was accompanied by a touching video and a promise for this season:
«This summer of ’26, we’ll do everything we can to make it the best summer of our lives.».
«Arachtopoleio» wasn't just a café-bar, but a landmark inextricably linked to the picturesque little harbor of Avlemonas.
