The «Trifylleio» General Hospital and Health Center of Kythira issued two important announcements concerning both historical memory and the staffing of the island’s health services.
Memorial Event for Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomos
On Friday, July 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., a memorial event will be held in Karava, Kythira, to mark the 30th anniversary of the murder of Tassos Isaac and Solomos Solomos by Turkish troopsin Cyprus.
The event will be attended by representatives from Cyprus, including his daughter, sisters, and widow of Tassos Isaac, as well as the former mayor of Karava, Cyprus, Yiannis Papaioannou.
According to the Kythira Hospital, Karavas is one of the stops on the nationwide tour of the Cypriot delegation, which is being conducted with the aim of raising public awareness about the ongoing, 52-year-long, illegal occupation of the northern part of the Republic of Cyprus.
The Kythira General Hospital and Health Center is participating in the event and extends an open invitation to all citizens who wish to honor the memory of the two heroes by attending.
Applications for support staff are now open
At the same time, the Hospital Administration reminds everyone that the Ministry of Health’s special online platform for submitting applications for the recruitment of auxiliary non-medical staff and other specializedspecialties.
The positions available include roles such as Radiology Technologist for the Radiology Department, DE X-ray Technicians and Developers, as well as DE Pharmacy Assistants; the deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The Hospital notes that candidates who are local residents receive preferential treatment during the hiring process, and encourages interested individuals to take advantage of the opportunity to submit an application before the deadline expires.
