By definition, Cooperation Network of Municipalities of the Regional Unit of the Attica Islands (DNA) as Intermediary Body (EF) in accordance with Decision No. 159093/S.78918/June 18, 2026 of the Program «Fisheries, Aquaculture, and the Sea (PALYTH) 2021–2027» on the Local Strategy for Fisheries Zone 09 «Islands of Attica and the Southeastern Peloponnese,», The implementation of the local «Blue Route» strategy is being launched, through a partnership between the Cooperation Network of Municipalities of the Regional Unit of the Attica Islands, the Parnonas Development Agency S.A., and the Messinia Development Agency S.A.
The strategy is part of the local communities« initiative to »Promote a sustainable blue economy in coastal, island, and inland regions and to promote the development of fishing and aquaculture communities” under the PALYTH 2021–2027 and aims to strengthen the sustainable development of the fishing regions of the Attica Islands and the southeastern Peloponnese, by harnessing the potential of the blue economy for the benefit of local communities.
The seven-member committee is responsible for managing and monitoring the implementation of the strategy Management Committee (PALYTH 2021–2027), which includes representatives from public and private, socioeconomic, and environmental organizations. The Committee’s composition ensures broad representation of local partners and strengthens cooperation, transparency, and the effectiveness of the strategy’s implementation.

- Anastasios Sardelis, Regional Councilor for the Peloponnese, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Messinia Development S.A. (A.E.A.O.T.A.).
- Panagiotis Kontoleon, spokesperson for the Kythira Professional Fishermen’s Association «Myrtiotissa»
- Spyridon Zacharopoulos, representative of the Laconia Chamber of Commerce
- Eirini Spinthouraki, spokesperson for the environmental organization «AETHALIA NONPROFIT – NONGOVERNMENTAL CIVIC ASSOCIATION,»,
- Georgios Markopoulos, representative of «LYSO Educational – Management Non-Profit Organization.».
As part of the implementation of the local strategy, the first kick-off meeting of the consortium’s executives was held on Wednesday, June 24, in Tripoli. During the meeting, the responsibilities of the members were defined, the framework for cooperation among the three partners was confirmed, and an action plan for the coming period was drawn up.
Immediate priorities include implementing communication and outreach initiatives, creating a dedicated informational website, the production of printed and digital informational materials for fishermen and fishing associations in the region, the organization of informational meetings with stakeholders and potential beneficiaries, as well as the planning of calls for proposals in accordance with the approved actions of the local strategy.
Through the collaboration of the three partners, the coordination of the Attica Islands Network as the Intermediary Body, and the support of the EDP, «GALAZIA ROTA» is now entering the organized implementation phase, laying the groundwork for the utilization of available resources under the PALYTH 2021–2027 and to promote the sustainable development of the fishing regions of the Attica Islands and the southeastern Peloponnese.
