The submission of proposals for the LEADER program of the Attica Islands Regional Unit Municipalities Cooperation Network has been completed

Ο Chairman of the Board of Directors. of the Cooperation Network of Municipalities of the Attica Islands Regional Unit and Mayor of Salamis Mr. Georgios Panagopoulos and President of the Program Management Committee RDP LEADER SS CAP Mr. Georgios Koutouzis, the Mayor of Poros, expressed their satisfaction with the response from eligible applicants following the successful completion of the proposal submission process as part of the 1of Invitation expression of interest in the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP SP) 2023–2027, Intervention P3-77-4.1 «Support for Local Development through the LEADER (TAPTOK – Local Development through Local Community Initiatives)», which concerns acts of a public nature.

The Local Action Group (LAG) Cooperative Network of Municipalities in the Attica Islands Regional Unit With a decade of experience and a track record in local development in the Attica Islands region, where it successfully implemented the local CLLD/ LEADER strategy for the 2014–2020 period, it provided, as part of its obligations, ongoing support to potential beneficiaries and all stakeholders. Thus, with the deadline for submitting proposals on July 26, 2026, announces the exceptionally high level of participation in the Call.

Thirty-four (34) proposals were submitted, with total requested public expenditure budget of €5,046,237.04, compared to public expenditure for the call amounting to €920,213.31 (oversubscription 548%). Of the proposals submitted 15 relate to projects in local municipalities, 17 are projects by community organizations, and 2 projects were submitted by the Attica Islands Network.

The particularly high level of investor interest, which significantly exceeds the available resources under the call for proposals, demonstrates the necessity and potential of the LEADER program for implementing initiatives that promote the sustainable development of the islands in the Attica Islands Regional Unit.

Once the submission process is complete, the Managing Authority proceeds with the prescribed administrative review and evaluation procedures for the proposals, in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework and the terms of the call for proposals, with the aim of swiftly completing the process and including projects that will contribute substantially to the implementation of the local strategy.

The Local Development Organization will take all necessary steps to secure additional resources within the framework of the planning and priorities of the General Secretariat for Community Resources of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. The Cooperation Network of Municipalities of the Attica Islands thanks all the organizations that responded to the invitation and reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting, with transparency and effectiveness, the implementation of the local LEADER program, for the benefit of local communities and the sustainable development of the Attica islands.
